The opening ceremony ICC World Cup 2011 was held at the Bangabandhu National Stadium in Dhaka, Bangladesh, on February 17, 2011. Pawar and Bangladesh Cricket Board president enthralled the packed stadium with their speeches. During the opening event captains of 14 teams arrived in rickshaws at the ground.
