Mehdi Skin Decoration

Mehdi is a form of temporary skin decoration that is very popular in South Asia. It is drawn on hands and arms during weddings and festivals. In some festivals every woman tries to have mehdi done on her hands and feet. It is usually drawn on the palms and feet, where the color will be darkest because the skin contains higher levels of keratin which binds temporarily to lawsone, the colorant of mehdi. Henna was originally used as a form of decoration mainly for brides. Looks very beautiful.
